Try One of Chicago’s Michelin Star Restaurants

Dinner table with skyscraper view in the style of Michelin star restaurants

One of the most coveted awards in the restaurant world, Michelin stars are given out yearly to the top-rated eateries around the world. These restaurants are honored for the quality of the food, preparation techniques, and the overall experience. According to the latest Michelin guide, Chicago has 22 Michelin star restaurants for 2019. Here are a few of our favorites:

Located in West Town, Temporis is the newest member of the Michelin star family in Chicago. Sleek and inviting, Temporis celebrates New American-style cuisine with a tasting menu style service. Over eight to ten courses, diners can enjoy house specialties such as the Eggplant Turbot, A5 Wagyu and PB&J Foie Gras.

Famed Chef Grant Achatz has earned the top-awarded three Michelin stars at his world-renowned Alinea restaurant. Found in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, Alinea features a soft and minimalistic decor. Booking a table here may be a challenge and requires some persistence. The payoff, however, is worth it with an incredible multi-course tasting menu. Unique favorites include the Earl Grey-infused lobster and the earthy mushroom-flavored wagyu.

Tucked away in the West Loop area, Oriole is an upscale eatery serving New American fare. White-washed brick walls and deep wood features welcome diners to this intimate space. Having earned two Michelin stars, Oriole has become a Chicago favorite among locals and visitors alike. Here, guests can look into the open kitchen while the staff prepares a menu of Golden Osetra Caviar, Carabineros Prawn and Hudson Valley Foie Gras.
