It’s almost time for one of the city’s most anticipated events: the Chicago International Film Festival.
In its 53rd year, the festival takes place October 12th through 26th and features films from around the world that range from dark comedies to insightful documentaries.
Tickets go on sale September 20th, and films include:
Breathe (117 minutes)
This film tells the love story of Robin and Diana. When he is stricken with polio and given a few months to live, they try to live life to the fullest despite his grim diagnosis.
Custody (90 minutes)
Custody is about a young boy named Julien who is caught in the middle of his parent’s separation. His mother claims the relationship was abusive while his father wants more access to him. The judge’s ruling in favor of joint custody triggers a terrifying chain of events that will have the audience on the edge of their seats.
Zoo (96 minutes)
Zoo was inspired by actual events and takes place in 1941 Belfast. When Tom’s zookeeper father has to leave to fulfill his army duties, Tom must help save the animals when German air raids threaten their safety.
Chasing the Blues (77 minutes)
After rival music collectors con a woman out of a rare blues album, they land behind bars for twenty years. When Alan Thomas walks free, he retrieves the record which many believe drives listeners insane.
