Italian cuisine is so flavorful, yet approachable. This is definitely true at Italianette, a new, casual Italian eatery near Catalyst Apartments. Italianette serves up hearty, rustic pasta as well as fresh salads. This is the perfect place to stop for lunch or dinner when you’re craving comfort food without the guilt.
All About Italianette
At Italianette, all of the pasta is handmade in-house, using authentic Italian methods that the owners learned abroad. The food is presented simply on white plates, allowing its natural beauty to shine through.
Since the restaurant is located inside the Fulton Gallery food hall, you can easily order your meal, enjoy it in the market’s common seating space, and then browse the other shops and restaurants. Food is ready in a matter of minutes, and if you’re dining with a group, they can grab food from other nearby eateries and then join you at the same table!
You’ll find the menu posted behind the counter on a simple board. Options change often. There are usually about 7 or 8 pasta dishes, 4 or 5 salads, and a dessert or two to choose from.
One of the top choices at Italianette is the burrata pasta. Made with traditional spaghetti noodles, a fresh tomato sauce, and whipped burrata, it has a classic, approachable appeal. The cacio e pepe is another simple choice made with plenty of black pepper and Parmesan cheese. Pair your pasta with an arugula salad, which comes topped with lemon olive oil and black pepper, for a simple and healthy treat.
If you stick around for dessert, you must try the olive oil cake. This traditional Italian-style pound cake is topped with whipped cream and preserves — yum!
