Did you know that Chicago’s pastry chefs fill their delectable pie creations with everything from plump fruit to chocolate cream? If you would like to enjoy a slice, here’s where to find the best pie in Chicago:
Nestled in the Hyde Park neighborhood, everything at Fabiana’s Bakery is made from scratch. The bakers here believe that desserts should be both delicious and healthy and their pies are made using locally and ethically sourced ingredients. Behind the counter, the staff strives to offer friendly, personalized service. Favorite pies include amaretto, key lime, and mixed berry.
Pie, Pie My Darling
When Heather Bodine-Lederman became a vegan ten years ago, she found that many vegan desserts were dry and dense. They didn’t satisfy her sweet tooth, so she began creating her own recipes. They quickly became popular among her family and friends, and her boyfriend suggested she open her own business. That’s how Pie, Pie My Darling was born, and its name is based on one of Heather’s favorite Misfits songs. The “bakery” is in a different location each month, or customers can order pies anytime online. A few of the unique pie flavors include chocolate peanut butter pretzel, cranberry walnut crumble, and salted chocolate pecan.
Blue Sky Bakery & Cafe
At Blue Sky, the motto is “Social Change Powered by Your Appetite.” This non-profit organization provides jobs for homeless and at-risk youth while also serving delicious baked treats to the community. Since 2008, it has helped more than 200 people. In 2015, ABC featured the bakery on The Chew, and visitors can enjoy their delectable dessert in a homey atmosphere. Pies include apple, pumpkin, and chocolate pecan.
In addition to these pie destinations, Catalyst Apartments are also near popular shopping destinations and fascinating museums. If you would like to call our community home, please contact us to arrange a tour where you can see firsthand all we have to offer.Back to all posts
