Do you want to enjoy dining deals at some of the city’s most celebrated restaurants? If so, don’t miss Chicago Restaurant Week. It takes place January 25th through February 7th, and this year it’s the largest ever with more than 400 participating restaurants. Some of our favorites include:
Bar Roma is the latest addition to Andersonville’s ever-changing dining scene. Executive Chef Fred Ramos highlights the cuisine of Rome, specializing in house-made pasta and wood-fired dishes. The waitstaff always offers friendly, attentive service, and the cozy dining room comes complete with exposed brick, black and white photographs, and dim lighting. The event menu includes Manzo, Cacio e Pepe, and tiramisu.
Chicago Chop House
The Chicago Chop House has been a local institution since 1986. Founder Henry Norton sold his home to finance the restaurant. While his friends and family were skeptical, he was confident he could make his mark on the city’s steakhouse scene. The eatery is found in a 100-year-old Victorian brownstone, and it takes visitors back to when politicians, meat packers, and gangsters dined on juicy steaks in luxurious rooms. Glowing sconces and over 1,400 historic photographs grace the walls. The Restaurant Week menu includes baked French onion soup, New York strip steak, and a flourless chocolate bomb for dessert.
Homestead on the Roof
Known as a hidden gem, Homestead on the Roof is where Chef Jesse Badger serves farm-fresh seasonal fare. The restaurant features a 3,000 square foot organic garden as well as two vertical hanging gardens. Homestead was called one of the “10 Best New American Restaurants in Chicago” by OpenTable, and its quaint setting features string lights and a brick fireplace. The event menu features Caesar salad, oyster pan roast, and butterscotch custard.
