Artist & Craftsman Supply

Known as America’s local art supply store, Artist & Craftsman strives to support the creative spirit. It began near Portland, Maine in 1985, and there are now thirty locations across the country that offer fine art materials for artists and hobbyists looking for something unusual or just plain fun. The friendly staff is glad to answer questions, and the large selection includes watercolor paints, polymer clay, and drawing boards.

Nina Chicago

Nestled in the Wicker Park neighborhood, Nina Chicago is a contemporary knitting shop that focuses on all things crafty. When owner Hilary learned to knit, she immediately became obsessed and learned every technique and tried every new yarn she could find. Hilary enjoys helping other knitters with their yarn selection and teaching them new skills, and she designs patterns under the label Hilary Hues. Products include needles, knitting magazines, and wool yarn.

Nina Chicago also offers classes for both beginners and more advanced knitters. Popular choices include Learn to Knit, Beyond Beginner, and Double Knitting.

Blick Art Materials

Blick Art Materials┬ádates back to 1911 when Dick and Grace Blick began selling a lettering pen that quickly became a best seller. They soon added other items, and today, the company is run by the Blick family’s third generation. Products include oil painting sets, charcoal paper, and acrylic brushes.
